Calamari braised in a tomato sauce with Mediterranean flavours together with tender & crispy calamari fritti In this workshop, we will be learning about the versatility of calamari. The lesson starts off with a short presentation about the theory behind cooking calamari to get the best results, following this, the chef instructors will begin to demonstrate the preparation of the squid for both dishes. During the lesson, each student will then emulate the chef instructors and prepare two spectacular dishes. A hearty squid stew flavoured with raisins and pine nuts, as well as learning techniques and tricks for making perfectly crisp and tender fried calamari. Join us for an evening of fun and learn all there is to know about the versatility of the humble squid. During the session you’ll learn: -Manoeuvring your way around the kitchen -Using and developing your knife skills for a variety of chopping techniques -The theory behind making great food at home -How to clean and prepare calamari to restaurant quality -How to marinate squid to make to be used for quick cooking methods such as grilling and frying -Great flavour pairings to liven up you braised calamari -How to correctly season and fry calamari to have a beautiful crust. Regardless of what we’re cooking, you don’t have to worry about a thing as we’ll provide all the recipes, tools and ingredients you need for the session. After we’re done? Well, things don’t end once the cooking session is complete. You can choose to dig into your meal with a glass of wine or take your accomplishments home to share with your loved ones.
